SPURS 87, JAZZ 81: Manu Ginobili snapped out of a funk with 17 points off the bench and San Antonio held host Utah without a point for a 10 1/2-minute stretch of the second half to complete a four-game sweep of their first-round series.

Ginobili, who came into the night averaging a paltry 5.7 points per game through the first three contests, shot 6 for 11 from the field as the Spurs used its trademark balanced attack and stifling defense to breeze into the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Tony Parker and Tim Duncan had 11 points in limited action, as did Gary Neal. Tiago Splitter added 10 points for San Antonio, which had no one play more than 27 minutes.

Al Jefferson led the way with 26 points for the Jazz, who won just three out of 16 quarters in the series and were outscored by 67 points overall.

San Antonio looked vulnerable in this one, leading by just eight points at the half. Utah whittled the deficit down to three points on a Jefferson 19-footer with 3:17 remaining in the third quarter, but the Jazz wouldn't hit the scoresheet again until Jefferson knocked down a 17-foot jumper with 7:10 remaining.

The Spurs stretched the advantage to 18 in that span, only to see Utah close to within four points on a Jefferson layup with 49 seconds remaining. Ginobili answered with a layup off a Paul Millsap turnover with 18 seconds left and the Jazz wouldn't challenge again.

Millsap had 10 points and 19 rebounds but shot just 4 for 17 in defeat.
