SPURS 114, JAZZ 83: Tony Parker led a balanced attack with 18 points and nine assists as host San Antonio trounced Utah to take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference first-round series.
A 20-0 second-quarter run set the tone for the remainder of the game as the Spurs built a 36-point lead before resting its starters for the entire final quarter. San Antonio has won 12 consecutive games as the series shifts to Salt Lake City for Game 3 on Saturday night.
Kawhi Leonard had 17 points, Daniel Green added 13 and Tim Duncan had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Spurs, who had seven players finish in double figures.
Josh Howard and Al Jefferson poured in 10 points apiece for the Jazz, who lost both games in San Antonio by a combined 46 points.
San Antonio dominated at both ends of the court - shooting 57 percent from the field while limiting Utah to just 32 percent - to open up a 28-17 first-quarter lead. The Jazz trimmed the deficit to just five points before the Spurs took control in emphatic fashion, reeling off 20 straight points - highlighted by three 3-pointers from Green - to open up a 53-28 halftime advantage.
The lead grew to 31 on a Boris Diaw seven-footer with 7:20 remaining in the third quarter, and Stephen Jackson knocked down a 3-pointer five minutes later to give San Antonio its largest lead of the game at 81-45.
GAME NOTEBOOK: San Antonio shot 57.3 percent on the night while the Jazz converted at just a 34.4-percent clip. ... Utah's starting five shot a combined 17 for 52 on the night. ... The Jazz made just one of six 3-point attempts and are 5 for 19 from beyond the arc in the series. ... Derrick Favors added nine points and nine rebounds off the bench in defeat.
