Tony Parker had 20 points and nine assists, and the San Antonio Spurs used an early fourth-quarter surge to remain unbeaten at home, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 99-83 Friday night.

With the game tied at 65 after three quarters, San Antonio (8-4) put it away with a back-breaking 14-0 run in the early moments of the final period.

A Parker layup made it a seven-point game, and Matt Bonner buried a 3-pointer on the next Spurs possession to extend the advantage to double digits.

Portland (7-4) wouldn't challenge the rest of the way as it dropped the opener of a six-game road trip.

Tiago Splitter made all five of his field goals to finish with 14 points in a reserve role, while DeJuan Blair and Daniel Green added 13 apiece as San Antonio improved to 8-0 in its own building.

LaMarcus Aldridge led the way with 29 points in defeat, while Gerald Wallace chipped in with 12 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

It was just the second San Antonio victory in the last 10 meetings between the clubs.
