Kings 3, Oilers 0: Marian Gaborik scored twice and added an assist while rookie Martin Jones made 17 saves to earn his fourth shutout as visiting Los Angeles snapped its three-game losing streak.
Anze Kopitar recorded his 200th career goal for the Kings, who improved to 10-0-2 in their last 12 games in Edmonton while sweeping the four-game season series. Kopitar's 27th tally of the season came 27 seconds into the contest and moved him into a tie with Jeff Carter for the team lead.
Kopitar started a rush with a pass to Gaborik and finished it by redirecting Justin Williams' feed out of the corner past Viktor Fasth (45 saves) from the slot. Gaborik made it 2-0 with 11 minutes left in the first period, when he collected the puck after defenseman Willie Mitchell fanned on a shot and scored from between the faceoff circles.
Jones preserved the two-goal lead during the opening minute of the second period, forcing David Perron wide of the net on a partial breakaway and diving back into the crease to deny Taylor Hall. Gaborik made it 3-0 with 6:05 left in the session as he used Edmonton defenseman Justin Schultz as a screen and wired a shot under Fasth's blocker.
Gaborik, who recorded his first three-point performance with Los Angeles, was denied in his bid for a hat trick by Fasth during a breakaway with 7:05 remaining. Williams notched two assists for the Kings, who outshot the Oilers 23-3 in the third period and weren't whistled for a penalty in consecutive games for the first time since 1989-90.
