Jets 4, Maple Leafs 2: Defenseman Tobias Enstrom scored the tiebreaking goal during a power play late in the second period and Olli Jokinen added an insurance tally in the third as visiting Winnipeg dented Toronto's postseason hopes.
Bryan Little and defenseman Jacob Trouba tallied in the first period as the Jets scored the final three goals to thwart the Maple Leafs' bid to move past Columbus and into the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Michael Frolik, captain Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler each collected two assists while Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 23 shots as Winnipeg beat Toronto for the fourth straight time.
Phil Kessel and Nazem Kadri scored in the opening period for the Maple Leafs, who remained one point behind the Blue Jackets but have played two more games. James Reimer lost his sixth consecutive start despite making 37 saves.
Enstrom snapped a 2-2 deadlock with a blast from the left point that beat a screened Reimer with 2:58 left in the second period. Trouba had tied it with four seconds left in the opening session, fighting off James van Riemsdyk to punch in the rebound of Frolik's shot six minutes after an awful misplay by Pavelec behind the net gave Kadri a tap-in.
Jokinen made it a two-goal cushion just over seven minutes into the third by burying Ladd's feed in the slot. Tyler Bozak fed a cutting Kessel for an easy conversion 2:45 into the contest before Little answered less than four minutes later with a turnaround wrist shot from the left hash marks.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Kessel's 37th goal matched his personal best and allowed him to reach 80 points for the second time in his career. ... Trouba and Enstrom each notched their 10th goals, giving the Jets 11 players with double digits in tallies. ... Reimer has allowed 14 first-period goals in his last seven starts.
