Arkansas 73, Texas A&M 62: Mardracus Wade scored 14 points as the host Razorbacks closed the regular season with their fifth victory in their past eight games.
Arkansas (19-12, 10-8 SEC) will open the SEC tournament on Thursday in Nashville, Tenn. The seventh-seeded Razorbacks will play No. 10 Vanderbilt in their opening game.
Fabyon Harris scored 16 points to lead Texas A&M (17-14, 7-11 SEC). The Aggies will be the 11th seed and will face Auburn in Wednesday's tournament opener.
The Razorbacks used a 21-8 second-half run to build a 59-43 advantage on Marshawn Powell’s layup with 8:39 to play. Harris scored 11 consecutive points as Texas A&M rallied to within 64-58, but Wade’s layup and two free throws pushed the Arkansas lead back to 68-58 with 1:02 to go.
Arkansas finished 28-for-36 from the free-throw line, finishing the season 18-1 at home.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Arkansas led by 18 points in the first half before the Aggies cut it to 33-26 at halftime. … Texas A&M’s Elston Turner, third in the SEC in scoring (17.7), did not play with a left pinkie injury. … The two former Southwest Conference foes split the season series in Texas A&M’s first season in the SEC.
