La Salle 82, Penn State 57: Tyreek Duren poured in a career-high 29 points on 9-of-13 shooting as the Explorers won the intrastate matchup at the Palestra.
Sam Mills and Ramon Galloway added 14 apiece for La Salle (5-1), which went 16-of-31 from 3-point range in winning its fourth straight.
Jermaine Marshall scored 19 points before fouling out for the Nittany Lions (4-4), who have alternated wins and losses in their first eight games. Ross Travis added 12 points and nine rebounds and D.J. Newbill contributed 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The game was tied at 23 midway through the first half when La Salle reeled off a 10-0 run capped by a pair of 3-pointers from Mills. The Explorers led the rest of the way.
Penn State pulled within 38-36 on Marshall's jumper to open the second half, but the Nittany Lions never got that close again and another 10-0 spurt put it away.
