Jordan Loveridge had 18 points and 10 rebounds in his college debut, leading the Utes over visiting Willamette in their first 100-point effort in 17 years.

Loveridge, the most sought-after high school recruit in Utah last fall, scored nine points in the first 7 1/2 minutes and had 14 points at the half.

Three freshmen led six players in double digits for the Utes (1-0). Justin Seymour scored 16 points while Dakarai Tucker added 15.

The trio combined for 18 of their team’s first 23 points. The Utes shot 64.3 percent while building a 52-22 first-half lead.

Elliot Babcock-Krenk scored a team-high seven points for Willamette, which shot 22.1 percent from the field

GAME NOTEBOOK: For the second consecutive season, the Utes were picked to finish last in the Pac-12. … Utah starting guard Jarred DuBois, who was previously a three-year starter at Loyola Marymount, sat out with a hip injury. … Utah forward Dallin Bachynski, who played a season at Southern Utah before serving a two-year LDS mission, finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
