UAB defeated Arkansas 70-65 in overtime Friday at Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Ark. They won last year’s game 73-72 on a dunk by Howard Crawford with one second remaining.
The Blazers (4-1) held a six-point lead with less than four minutes to play. Delvon Johnson brought Arkansas to within 55-54 with 37 seconds remaining after draining four free throws. Razorback Jeff Peterson nailed a clutch 3-pointer with one second remaining to send the game to overtime.
Shots from the arc from Robert Williams and Cameron Moore in overtime put the Blazers comfortably ahead.
Jamarr Sanders led the Blazers with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. All five UAB starters reached double digits in scoring.
Johnson led the Razorbacks with 18 points.
