NORMAN, Okla. -- Baylor has already had a lot of highs this season. On Friday in a Big 12 opener, the No. 4 Bears turned in possibly their most complete performance, beating up on Oklahoma 76-50 in front of 7,267 at Lloyd Noble Center.

"I thought we were really good for most of 40 minutes," Baylor coach Scott Drew said. "We never really had any letdowns."

Baylor dominated the game from the start, building a quick 11-2 lead and then steadily increasing the lead throughout the first half.

The Bears especially dominated inside, with junior forwards Johnathan Motley and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. combining for 31 points as Baylor outscored Oklahoma 38-16 in the paint.

Motley had game highs in points (19) and rebounds (13).

Baylor outrebounded Oklahoma 46-30, including 17 offensive rebounds. The Bears (13-0, 1-0 Big 12) had 23 second-chance points.

"Baylor's bigs are pretty good," Oklahoma's Khadeem Lattin said. "We definitely have to do a better job rebounding."

For Oklahoma, it was a continuation of a frustrating stretch.

The Sooners dropped their fourth consecutive game, their longest losing streak since late in the 2011-12 season. Oklahoma also played without senior guard Jordan Woodard -- one of only two returning starters from last year's Final Four team -- for the second consecutive game.

Woodard, who missed the Dec. 21 loss to Auburn with a high-leg injury, did not play against the Bears because of an unrelated, undisclosed medical condition.

Sooners coach Lon Kruger said he found out about Woodard's absence the night before the game after Woodard was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Oklahoma (6-6, 0-1) was also missing sophomore forward Dante Buford, who was held out because of a nagging groin injury.

"Know it changed the game without Woodard and Buford, but I was proud of what our guys did," Drew said.

What didn't change was Baylor's plan coming in, even if they expected Woodard, Oklahoma's leading scorer, to play.

The Bears closed out strong defensively on Oklahoma's 3-point shooters and held the Sooners to 3 of 12 from behind the arc in the first half as they allowed Oklahoma just 17 first-half points and built a 19-point lead at the break.

"Everybody was just playing with a lot of energy, flying around," Motley said. "Everybody was locked in. We knew the scouting report and made sure we executed that to the fullest."

Baylor's offensive success wasn't limited to the inside.

Point guard Manu Lecomte, a transfer from Miami, had 14 points, making 4 of 5 3-point attempts and adding four assists. Baylor hit nine 3-pointers in the game.

Drew was concerned how his team would respond after nine days off since a Dec. 21 win over Texas Southern.

"We were sharp after the break," Drew said. "We've got to credit our upperclassmen for making sure we were ready to go. This is just one game.

"We've had games where we've played well and then not played well the next game so after this bus ride, we’ll be focusing on the next game."

Kruger said his young team -- only Lattin among the available players played a consistent role throughout last season -- must figure out a way to improve even with Woodard out.

"We're not ready to play at the level we need to in Big 12 play," Kruger said. "The interest is there. They want to. We've got to teach better and get better together.

"This is not a level that's going to get success. Credit Baylor for causing us to look maybe even worse than what we were."

NOTES: Neither team hit a free throw in the first half, with Baylor missing its lone chance and Oklahoma missing both of its foul shots. ... With Oklahoma G Jordan Woodard out for the second consecutive game, sophomore Christian James started for again in his place. James started the first nine games before being moved to a reserve role when Jordan Shepherd was inserted as the starting point guard and Woodard was moved off the ball. ... Oklahoma plays at TCU on Tuesday. Baylor hosts Iowa State on Wednesday. ... With three blocks, Oklahoma F Khadeem Lattin is tied for fourth in school history with 132 career blocks.
