Powered by a balanced scoring attack, the Washington Huskies (7-5) won their third game in a row with a 94-72 victory over the Seattle Redhawks (7-6).
Forward Noah Dickerson went for a double-double, with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Sensational freshman Markelle Fultz added 18 points, as the guard also added several highlight reel dunks and blocks. Guard, David Crisp nailed five 3 pointers for 16 points, and forward, Dominic Green added 10 points.
Washington shot 54 percent for the game, including 50 percent from 3-point territory, going 10-for-20.
Senior guard Brendan Westendorf led Seattle with 17 points, including three 3-pointers. He was the only Redhawk player in double figures.
The clash of styles was obvious early as the bigger Seattle squad wanted to keep the game to be played in half court, while Washington wanted a more frenetic pace, but the Huskies' talent was just too much as they wore the Redhawks down in the second half.
The Redhawks' poor shooting didn't help matter either, as they were unable to capitalize on several good looks in the paint.
Seattle got off to an early 16-9 lead. Washington outscored them from there 16-4, including an 8-0 run, powered by three 3-pointers from Crisp, to take a 25-20 lead with seven minutes left in the first half.
The two teams basically swapped buckets until the one minute mark, which found Washington up 34-30. But in the final 60 seconds, they were able to score the final seven points, including a 3-pointer from Green to take a 41-30 lead into the locker room.
The Huskies came out strong, scoring 19 points in the first four minutes of the second half, to build a 59-40 lead. From there, they never looked back, as they scored 53 points in the second half.
