No. 1 Duke 67, Davidson 50: Ryan Kelly scored 18 points and the top-ranked Blue Devils started the second half with a 12-0 run en route to a win over the Wildcats at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C.
After a first half which saw neither team lead by more than five, Duke (13-0) broke away from a halftime deadlock by scoring the first 12 points of the second half to take a 41-29 lead with 14:20 remaining. Kelly scored five in the pivotal run after scoring the Blue Devils' last eight points of the first half.
Quinn Cook tallied 15 for Duke while Mason Plumlee added 10 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Thornton came off the bench to chip in 10 as the Blue Devils knocked off Davidson (7-6) for the 24th straight time.
Jake Cohen paced the Wildcats with a game-high 19 points and De'Mon Brooks added eight and a game-high 12 rebounds as Davidson could not recover after being held scoreless the first 6:07 of the second half. The closest the Wildcats would get was eight the rest of the way. The 67 points matched a season-low for Duke.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Both teams shot well from the free throw line; Duke was 20-for-22 and Davidson made 12-of-13. ... Charlotte native and Duke senior Seth Curry scored just six points, making only 3-of-11 from the field. ... Duke opens ACC play Saturday when it hosts Wake Forest.
