Florida State 62, Duke 59: Michael Snaer scored 16 points,
including the go-ahead 3-pointer with just over three minutes left, and
Seth Curry’s desperation heave rimmed out at the buzzer as the Seminoles
advanced to the ACC championship game by knocking off the Blue Devils.
The
third-seeded Seminoles (23-9) won the rubber match with Duke (27-6) and
now advance to face top-seeded North Carolina on Sunday. It will be
just their second-ever ACC tournament championship game appearance.
Florida
State led 33-31 at intermission and for most of the second half. After
second-seeded Duke took a late 57-55 lead on a three-point play from
Austin Rivers with 3:39, Snaer drilled a go-ahead 3-pointer with 3:28 to
play.
Duke had a chance to respond, but Rivers’ off-balance 3-pointer clanged off the back of the rim with 3.5 seconds left.
Rivers scored 17 points and Curry added 13 for the Blue Devils, who shot just 25 percent (5 of 20) from beyond the arc.
