Devin Booker scored 14 points as visiting Clemson started hot and never really cooled off en route to a 73-50 victory over The Citadel on Wednesday.
Tanner Smith added 11 points - all in the first half - and Milton Jennings scored 10 in his homecoming for the Tigers (2-0), who have won 14 straight meetings with their in-state rivals. Jennings was a standout at Pinewood Prep in nearby Summerville, S.C.
Clemson shot better than 50 percent in building a 39-21 halftime lead and the Tigers didn't let up after the break.
The Bulldogs (1-2) rallied from a 20-point deficit to beat Army last week, but they weren't able to mount a comeback this time. They shot worse than 30 percent, and no one other than forward Mike Groselle had more than three field goals.
Groselle had 16 points and 11 rebounds to become the first Citadel player to record four consecutive double-doubles. He has scored in double figures in nine consecutive games dating to last season.
The Citadel averaged 91.5 points in its first two games.
