Wisconsin overcame a three-point halftime deficit with a run of 18 unanswered second-half points to knock off Boston College 65-55 in a battle of once-beaten teams at the Old Spice Classic tournament Friday in Orlando, Fla.
Down 29-26 at the half, the Badgers (4-1) struggled throughout the early part of the second half and Boston College (3-2) built a six-point cushion. Wisconsin erased that and tied the game at 34-34 on a layup by Mike Bruesewitz with 15:47 remaining.
After a Nanvil Keaton dunk put Wisconsin up 36-34 at the 13:55 mark, Boston College’s Corey Raji converted a layup to tie the score at 36-36, and the Badgers responded with an 18-0 run that put the game way out of reach for Boston College.
Jon Leuer scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Wisconsin, and Jordan Taylor added 14 points.
Reggie Jackson led Boston College with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Joe Trapani had 11 points.
