Malcolm Delaney scored a season-high 33 points and Jeff Allen notched his fifth straight double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead Virginia Tech to a dominating 102-77 win over Georgia Tech on Sunday in Blacksburg, Va.
Virginia Tech (16-7, 6-4 ACC) kept its hold on fourth place in the conference in winning its eighth straight home game and topping the 100-point mark for the first time this season.
The Hokies also avenged a loss at Georgia Tech last month, while the Yellow Jackets (10-14, 3-8) have now dropped five straight since that 72-57 win in Atlanta.
Delaney, who now has eight 30-point games in his career, became the 20th player in league history to top 1,000 career points in ACC regular season games.
Allen, coming off a 25-point, 19-rebound effort at Boston College last week, notched the 40th double-double of his career. Virginia Tech shot 68 percent from the field in the first half and was never threatened, leading by as many as 30 in the second half.
Iman Shumpert, who had a triple-double against Virginia Tech last month, led Georgia Tech with 27 points. Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt was ejected in the first half.
