Rion Brown scored 16 points to lead a dominating effort from the Miami (Fla.) bench in an 88-65 win over North Carolina Central Friday night in Coral Gables, Fla.
The Hurricanes’ reserves outscored the Eagles’ by a 50-11 count. Miami used a 26-9 rebounding edge and an 11-0 advantage from the foul line to seize a 43-31 halftime lead. An 18-4 run midway through the second half made it 65-39 with 10:28 left, effectively sealing the outcome.
Reggie Johnson added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Miami, which had seven different players score at least eight points. C.J. Wilkerson led the Eagles (1-2) with 27 points.
