Will Smith and Gavin Lux drove in two runs apiece and the Los Angeles Dodgers relied on a six-run eighth inning to pull away for a 7-2 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night in Minneapolis.

Trea Turner and Justin Turner added one RBI apiece for the Dodgers, who snapped a two-game skid.

Max Kepler went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Minnesota. The game was delayed by rain for 88 minutes before the teams resumed action in the eighth.

Dodgers right-hander Daniel Hudson (1-0) earned the win out of the bullpen by pitching one scoreless inning. Hudson was one of five relievers who followed starter Andrew Heaney, who allowed one run on three hits in 4 1/3 innings in his team debut.

Twins right-hander Emilio Pagan (0-1) took the loss after surrendering one run in one inning. Seven relievers followed Chris Archer, who pitched four scoreless innings in his first start for the Twins.

The Dodgers broke the game open with six runs in the top of the eighth inning.

Mookie Betts and Freeman led off the inning with back-to-back walks, and Trea Turner squeezed a single through the infield to score Betts for a 2-1 lead. Max Muncy drew a walk to load the bases, and Justin Turner delivered an RBI single to make it 3-1.

Smith followed with a two-run double to deep right-center field that scored Trea Turner and Muncy.

Justin Turner then scored on a fielding error by third baseman Luis Arraez, boosting the Dodgers' advantage to 6-1. Lux singled to center field in the next-at bat to drive in Smith and cap the rally.

The Dodgers got on the scoreboard first in the top of the fifth. Cody Bellinger drew a one-out walk, stole second and third base and came home on a sacrifice fly to center field by Lux.

Minnesota came back to even the score in the bottom of the fifth. Kepler led off the frame with a double to right-center field, and he came around to score three batters later on a throwing error by shortstop Trea Turner.

Twins right-hander Josh Winder made his major league debut and allowed one run in one inning. The 25-year-old from Virginia Military Institute was Minnesota's seventh-round pick in 2018.
