Senior forward Rosco Allen scored 24 points and made the go-ahead basket with five seconds remaining to lead Stanford to a 75-73 victory over visiting Arizona State on Saturday night at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif.

Junior guard Marcus Allen had 13 points for Stanford (11-7, 4-3 Pac-12 Conference). Sophomore forward Michael Humphrey added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Sophomore guard Tra Holder had 18 points for Arizona State (11-9, 1-6). Senior forward Willie Atwood had 16 points and junior forwards Savon Goodman and Obinna Oleka had 11 points apiece.

Stanford outscored Arizona State 18-10 over the first six minutes and went up 27-16 on a layup by Humphrey. The Cardinal still led by 10 with 5:30 to play in the opening half, but the Sun Devils cut Stanford' s lead to 32-31 on a 3-pointer by Holder.

Freshman guard Marcus Sheffield' s jumper in the final minute gave the Cardinal a 40-34 advantage at the break.

Arizona State cut the deficit to one on a 3-pointer by Atwood. Stanford regained control moments later, mounting an 8-0 run to go up 64-54. The Sun Devils stormed back again to take a 71-70 lead on a layup by Holder with 1:41 remaining, but Allen' s layup in the final seconds gave the Cardinal the victory.
