Jeremy Lamb led the way with 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists as No. 16 Connecticut snapped a two-game slide with a 64-57 victory over visiting West Virginia on Monday.
Andre Drummond scored 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting and added 11 rebounds and three blocks for the Huskies (13-3, 3-2 Big East), who lost to Seton Hall and Rutgers last week.
Connecticut dominated on defense in the second half, holding West Virginia (12-5, 3-2) to 8 of 30 (27 percent) from the floor.
The Mountaineers led by as much as 46-36, when Deniz Kilicli hit a jumper with 11:28 remaining. But West Virginia went cold from there, missing five straight field goal attempts and committing a pair of turnovers as Connecticut chipped away.
Lamb buried a 3-pointer with 5:19 left in the game, capping a 15-2 burst and giving the Huskies the lead, 51-48.
The Mountaineers would tie it once more, 55-55 with 3:02 left, but never regained the lead. Drummond’s jumper with 1:25 on the clock and four points from Lamb in the final 14 seconds sealed it for Connecticut.
Kevin Jones scored 22 points but Darryl Bryant was held to eight points on 2-of-13 shooting for West Virginia.
