Grizzlies 103, Heat 95: Mike Conley and Marc Gasol combined for 46 points and some clutch plays down the stretch as visiting Memphis snapped a four-game losing streak.
Conley scored 16 of his 24 points in the first half and added four 3-pointers and Gasol contributed 22 points and 10 rebounds for his ninth double-double as Memphis held on after taking a 19-point lead early in the third quarter. Beno Udrih added 11 points and Tayshaun Prince, Courtney Lee and Tony Allen scored 10 apiece for the Grizzlies, who rebounded nicely after an overtime loss to Houston on Friday.
Dwyane Wade scored 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting for the Heat, who are 5-10 this month after entering December with a 9-7 mark. Danny Granger added a season-high 18 points and Luol Deng scored 10 of his 16 points in the third quarter as Miami dropped to 2-4 on a seven-game homestand that began Dec. 17 and concludes Monday against Orlando.
The Grizzlies' 19-point lead fell to one late in the third and the clubs exchanged buckets for most of the fourth until a right-handed floater by Conley restored a seven-point edge with 2:54 left. The Heat got within two on three occasions, but Gasol drained four free throws, Conley hit a pair and Gasol blocked a drive by Mario Chalmers with 13.9 ticks left that gave Memphis the ball and secured the victory.
Conley scored 10 points in the first quarter as Memphis jumped to a 13-point lead, but Wade scored 13 and Granger nine in the second before Conley scored six points in the final 49 seconds, including a shot from the arc at the first-half buzzer that provided a 57-41 lead. Conley opened the scoring in the third with another 3-pointer, but Wade capped a 23-5 run with three hoops in a 90-second span that got Miami within 65-64 with 3 1/2 left in the third.
