Thunder 117, Clippers 111 (OT): Kevin Durant scored nine of his 35 points in overtime and added six rebounds, five assists and five steals as host Oklahoma City escaped with a win over Los Angeles.
Russell Westbrook scored six of his 23 in the extra period and added nine assists while Kevin Martin scored 20 off the bench for the Thunder, who have won three straight and eight of nine.
Blake Griffin scored 23 points, Jamal Crawford had 20 and Matt Barnes added 19 for the Clippers, who had their six-game winning streak snapped. Los Angeles has not won seven in a row since an eight-game winning streak in 1991.
Oklahoma City held a 98-91 edge after Durant hit a pair of free throws with 2:56 left in regulation but the Clippers stormed back. Barnes scored seven points in the final 2:12, including a layup with 36 seconds left that tied it at 102-102 and forced overtime.
Westbrook and Durant each buried a 3-pointer in overtime and the two stars combined for all 15 of the Thunder’s points in the extra frame.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Clippers are halfway through a four-game road trip with stops remaining at Brooklyn and Atlanta. They played eight of their first nine games in Los Angeles. … Oklahoma City was 34-of-39 from the free throw line. Durant went 19 of 21 from the stripe. … Chris Paul made 2 of 14 shots from the floor and finished with nine points, nine assists and four turnovers for the Clippers.
