J.J. Hickson had 24 points and 15 rebounds and Baron Davis hit a big 3-pointer in his return as the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons 97-91 at home Friday to end a four-game losing streak.
Davis returned after missing three games with back spasms to sink a high-arcing 3-pointer over the outstretched arm of 6-10 forward Chris Wilcox with 10.9 seconds left to give the Cavs (14-57) the six-point lead.
Davis, who has played in just five of 14 games since the Cavs acquired him from the Los Angeles Clippers, had 16 points and five assists off the bench. He is expected to make his first start for the Cavs on Sunday against Atlanta.
Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton each had 15 points, while Wilcox had 12 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons (25-47), who held the Cavs scoreless for 3½ minutes late in the fourth quarter to trim an eight-point deficit down to 92-91 with 1:39 remaining.
Daniel Gibson answered with a 3-pointer for the Cavs and Davis sealed it with his basket a minute later.
