Phillies 6, Giants 2:
Chase Utley and Ryan Howard homered and Kyle Kendrick tossed seven strong innings as visiting Philadelphia won its second straight game against San Francisco.

Kendrick (4-1) made his sixth consecutive quality start and allowed two runs and six hits with no walks and six strikeouts. Philadelphia's starting pitchers - Cliff Lee and Kendrick - have held the Giants to four runs over 15 innings in the first two games of the series.

The Phillies scored once in the first when Howard singled in a run off Tim Lincecum (2-2), who gave up two more runs in the second. Lincecum settled down and threw seven innings while allowing five runs with seven strikeouts.

San Francisco, which had its six-game winning streak snapped by Philadelphia on Monday, cut the deficit to 3-2 in the third when Brandon Belt scored on a sacrifice fly by Angel Pagan and Marco Scutaro extended his hitting streak to seven games with an RBI double.

Utley, who was 3-for-5, led off the fifth with a home run deep into the right field seats and Michael Young added an RBI double off Lincecum in the seventh. The Phillies moved ahead 6-2 in the ninth on Howard’s two-out homer off Jose Mijares.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pagan went 0-for-3 after missing the last two games with a strained right hamstring. … San Francisco activated Mijares from the restricted list and optioned RHP Jean Machi to Triple-A Fresno. … The Phillies announced that RHP Tyler Cloyd will start Friday in Arizona in place of injured ace Roy Halladay.
