Braves 9, Diamondbacks 1: Freddie Freeman had a pair of RBI doubles and Brandon Beachy pitched 7 1/3 stellar innings as visiting Atlanta continued its offensive assault and won its fourth straight game.
The Braves, who have scored 74 runs and are 9-1 in their last 10 outings, outscored the Diamondbacks 19-3 in the first two games of the series.
Freeman opened the scoring with a double to deep right in the third and his two-bagger gave Atlanta a 7-0 lead and capped a four-run sixth.
Freeman went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and is 6-for-9 with seven RBIs in his last two games. Brian McCann hit a two-run homer in the fifth for the Braves.
Michael Bourn was 2-for-5 with an RBI double in the sixth. He added a stolen base, giving him eight steals on the season.
Beachy (2-1) allowed four hits and struck out five. He also added an RBI in the sixth with a suicide squeeze, scoring Chipper Jones from third.
The Diamondbacks have lost four in a row, and scored eight runs in the process.
Arizona got on the board in the ninth when Paul Goldschmidt scored Aaron Hill from third on a fielder’s choice. Goldschmidt finished 2-for-3.
Trevor Cahill (1-1) lasted 5 2/3 innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) and seven hits.
