Texas Tech 91, Grambling State 56: Junior forward Jaye Crockett scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Red Raiders easily handled the visiting Tigers.
Sophomore Trency Jackson added 15 points and sophomore Jordan Tolbert chipped in 14 points and eight boards.
Texas Tech crushed Grambling State on the boards, holding a 42-23 advantage. The Red Raiders also stole the ball 17 times.
Grambling State (0-5), which never led, fell behind 43-21 by halftime. The two teams played a closer final 20 minutes, but Texas Tech never allowed the Tigers to go on any kind of sustained run.
David Copeland led the Tigers with 15 points, and Terry Rose followed with 13. Peter Roberson knocked down 5-of-7 shots for 11 points.
