Jarell Eddie added 17 points off the bench on 6-of-6 shooting for the Hokies (18-8, 8-5 ACC), who bounced back from a loss at rival Virginia over the weekend and maintained their grip on fourth place in the ACC.
Virginia Tech will have a chance to solidify its at-large resume for the NCAA Tournament when it hosts No. 1 Duke on Saturday.
Delaney did most of his damage in the first half, with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, as the Hokies came out strong on both ends to take a 38-25 edge into the locker room. The Demon Deacons shot just 33 percent and were outrebounded 21-10 in the opening period.
Virginia Tech stretched it out to 60-39 on Erick Green’s layup with 11:32 left in the game and coasted to the finish.
Travis McKie scored 22 points for Wake Forest (8-20, 1-12).
