Washington State used a 13-2 run midway through the first half to seize control and coast to a 77-63 win over Oregon Saturday night.

Washington State (12-4, 2-2 Pac-10) led 39-26 at halftime despite a slow start by Klay Thompson, the Pac-10’s leading scorer. Thompson scored just five first-half points, but finished with a game-high 16 on 6 of 13 shooting.

The teams were tied at 19 with 7:22 left in the first half when Washington State produced a 13-2 run that was punctuated by a Thompson jumper to pull ahead 32-21. Reggie Moore scored all 15 of his points in the first half for the Cougars, who shot 42 percent from the 3-point line.

Oregon (7-9, 0-4) struggled through a poor offensive night, shooting 33.8 percent from the field. Saturday’s game was the sixth straight game the Ducks failed to shoot better than 40 percent.

Oregon’s Garrett Sim scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds to lead the Ducks, who dropped their sixth straight game.
