Brandon Davies scored 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting, and No. 25 Brigham Young used a decisive second-half run to secure a 77-65 road victory over Creighton Wednesday night in Omaha, Neb.
The Cougars (7-0) took control early with 10 straight points to build a 24-12 cushion in the middle of the first half, but Creighton cut the deficit to 34-28 on a three-point play by Darryl Ashford just before the intermission.
After three foul shots by Ashford brought Creighton to within 51-47 with 10:56 left, Jimmer Fredette converted a three-point play to start a 10-0 run that put BYU in front for good.
Doug McDermott led Creighton (4-3) with 20 points.
Fredette and Jackson Emery scored 13 points apiece for the Cougars, who finished with a 44-30 scoring edge in the paint as well as a 43-33 rebounding advantage.
