76ers 92, Hawks 84: Luc Richard Mbah a Moute scored 19 points, including a dagger 3-pointer, and Nerlens Noel continued his strong play as host Philadelphia responded from an early deficit to end shorthanded Atlanta's six-game winning streak.
Noel had 11 points and added a career-high 17 rebounds and five steals for the 76ers, who snapped a four-game losing steak. Hollis Thompson drilled 5-of-7 from the arc en route to 19 points and grabbed nine boards as Philadelphia ended a seven-game series skid against Atlanta.
Jeff Teague had 17 points and Dennis Schroder chipped in 16 for the Hawks, who rested All-Stars Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver along with fellow starter DeMarre Carroll. Al Horford struggled against Noel, shooting 6-of-16 for 12 points and garnering only five rebounds.
Isaiah Canaan drained three free throws to snap a tie with four minutes left, then Noel recorded consecutive steals that turned into a layup and free throw for an 88-83 lead with 2:54 left. The Hawks, who went scoreless for nearly three minutes down the stretch, got a free throw, but Mbah a Moute drained a straightaway 3-pointer with 65 ticks left and the 76ers avoided a four-game season series sweep.
Teague scored 13 points in the first half and Mike Scott scored six during a 19-2 run as Atlanta built a 36-20 lead early in the second and settled for a 53-47 edge at the break. Philadelphia opened the second half with eight straight points - six on 3-pointers by Canaan and Robert Covington - to take the lead and the Sixers closed on a 12-5 run to take a 72-69 edge into the fourth.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hawks G John Jenkins made his first start of the season and scored eight points in 23 minutes while F Mike Muscala started for the second time and scored two points in 17 minutes. … Philadelphia drained 5-of-12 shots from the arc in the third quarter while holding Atlanta to 5-of-22 shooting overall to turn a six-point deficit into a three-point lead. … In his last six games, Noel has 72 rebounds, 20 steals and 13 blocks.
