Scott Baker carried a one-hitter into the eighth inning and Delmon Young collected three hits and two RBIs as the Minnesota Twins built an early lead and went on to post an 8-1 home victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

Alexi Casilla added three hits and scored twice for the Twins, who have won eight of their last 10 games overall and eight of nine against Texas at Target Field.

Baker (4-4), who recorded his fourth career complete game, retired the first 12 batters he faced before Adrian Beltre led off the fifth inning with a double. Baker regrouped and set down the next 11 Rangers, but Mike Napoli singled with two outs in the eighth and scored on David Murphy's base hit to spoil the righthander's bid for his third career shutout.

Shortly after a pregame ceremony in which former Cy Young Award winner Jim Perry was inducted into the Twins' Hall of Fame, Minnesota struck for five runs in the first inning. Rookie Brian Dinkelman highlighted the outburst with a two-run single off Colby Lewis (5-7), who retired just four batters while allowing six runs in falling to 0-4 lifetime against the Twins.

Lewis, who entered with an AL-best 2.17 road ERA, has yielded 15 runs in 4 2/3 innings over his last two starts. Texas reliever Dave Bush surrendered two runs in 4 2/3 frames before leaving with a leg injury.
