Jed Lowrie and Elvis Andrus hit home runs as the Oakland Athletics won 7-5 at Seattle on Tuesday night, snapping a 13-game losing streak to the Mariners dating to last season.

Rookie Julio Rodriguez homered for the second consecutive night, but the Mariners lost for the fifth time in their past six games overall.

Oakland reliever Sam Moll (2-0) got the victory after throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Dany Jimenez worked the ninth for his ninth save in as many opportunities, striking out Rodriguez with a runner on to end the game.

The A's broke a 5-5 tie with a two-out rally in the seventh inning.

Sean Murphy walked on four consecutive pitches from lefty Anthony Misiewicz (0-1). Andrus followed with a single into left-center, with the ball deflecting off left fielder Jesse Winker's glove for an error, allowing Murphy to score.

Luis Barrera then lined a run-scoring double to right, making it 7-5.

The A's took an early lead. Tony Kemp led off the game with a single, stole second and scored on Chad Pinder's one-out double to right.

A one-out single by Kemp in the third led to another run, as Lowrie followed with an RBI double to right.

The Mariners tied it at 2-2 in the bottom of the third. Taylor Trammell walked with one out and moved to third on a two-out single by Winker. Both runners scored on Ty France's double to center.

The A's regained the lead in the fifth as Kemp reached on a bunt single with one out and Lowrie hit a two-run shot to right for a 4-2 edge.

The Mariners took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Cal Raleigh led off with a single and took third on a single by Winker. Raleigh scored on France's groundout, and Rodriguez homered with two outs.

Seattle's lead didn't last long, as Andrus greeted reliever Drew Steckenrider with a solo shot leading off the sixth.

Seattle's Kyle Lewis, the 2020 American League Rookie of the Year, made his season debut after recovering from knee surgery. He went 2-for-4. J.P. Crawford and Winker each added two hits for Seattle.

Kemp led the A's with three hits, while Lowrie, Andrus and Barrera had two apiece.

Both starters, Oakland's James Kaprielian and Seattle's George Kirby, went five innings. Kaprielian yielded five runs, while Kirby surrendered four runs but struck out nine.
