Jed Lowrie ripped a go-ahead RBI double in the 10th inning to lift the visiting Oakland Athletics to a 4-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.

Elvis Andrus, who was stationed at second base to start the 10th inning, advanced to third on a groundout by Starling Marte that resulted in the second out.

Nick Wittgren (2-5) walked Matt Olson to put runners on the corners for Lowrie, who plated Andrus by slapping a double to left field.

Lowrie's groundout scored Olson to forge a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning.

Six Oakland relievers combined to allow just one hit over 8 1/3 scoreless innings after starter Sean Manaea permitted three runs on five hits in 1 2/3 frames.

Lou Trivino (5-4) was credited with the victory after tossing one inning, and Andrew Chafin retired the side in order in the 10th to secure his first save of the season.

Seth Brown belted a solo homer and Sean Murphy had an RBI double for the Athletics, who opened a 10-game road trip by winning their fifth consecutive contest.

Cleveland's Amed Rosario had an RBI single to highlight his third straight multi-hit performance. He is batting .413 (19-for-46) in his last 11 games.

Harold Ramirez also had a run-scoring single and Myles Straw collected two hits and a run for the Indians.

Straw's double to left field and an error by left fielder Mark Canha allowed Ernie Clement to score and give Cleveland a 2-1 lead in the second inning. Straw tacked on another run against Manaea by scoring on Rosario's infield single.

Brown halved the deficit in the fourth inning after depositing a first-pitch fastball from Triston McKenzie over the wall in right-center field. The homer was Brown's 14th of the season and second in as many games.

Ramirez's infield single plated Rosario to open the scoring in the first inning before Murphy answered with an RBI double in the second.

Oakland's Josh Harrison was hit by a fastball from McKenzie on the right hand in the top of the sixth inning. Harrison was picked off to end the inning and was replaced at second base by Tony Kemp to start the bottom of the sixth.
