Blue Jays 6, Yankees 4: Dan Johnson singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and added a three-run shot in the ninth as Toronto ended its 17-game losing streak in New York.

Melky Cabrera scored twice and drove in a run for the Blue Jays, who posted their first win in Yankee Stadium since Aug. 29, 2012. Drew Hutchison (7-9), who had dropped three straight starts and entered Saturday with a 0-3 record and 9.22 ERA against New York this season, permitted two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out seven over 6 2/3 innings to give Toronto its sixth win in its last eight games.

Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran each hit a two-run homer while Derek Jeter singled twice to give him 3,416 career hits – three shy of tying Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski for seventh place on the all-time list. Chris Capuano yielded two runs on five hits and four walks over six frames in his Yankees debut, but Shawn Kelley (1-3) was charged with the game-winning run after loading the bases in the seventh.

New York struck for two runs in the fourth, getting a leadoff walk from Beltran before McCann squared up a 1-1 changeup and deposited it over the fence in right-center. Toronto rallied to tie it in the fifth as Cabrera followed a one-out walk to Jose Reyes with a run-scoring double to left while Steve Tolleson added a sacrifice fly later in the frame to plate Cabrera.

After Kelley allowed the first three hitters to reach in the seventh, Matt Thornton gave up Johnson’s bloop infield single that fell in between the left-hander and second baseman Brian Roberts. Johnson tacked on some insurance in the ninth when he lined a 2-1 curveball from Jeff Francis into the right-field stands for his first homer of the season and it proved to be valuable when Beltran homered for the second time in as many games in the bottom half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Blue Jays’ road losing streak against the Yankees was the second-longest such stretch in franchise history and the fourth-longest by any club versus another team since division play began in 1969. … Capuano became the 11th different starter and 47th different player the Yankees have used this season. … Toronto manager John Gibbons told reporters before the game that 1B Edwin Encarnacion (quad) suffered a minor setback in his recovery on Friday and will be shut down for the next couple of days.
