Orioles 3, Rays 1: Steve Pearce belted a two-run homer and Ubaldo Jimenez won his second straight start as visiting Baltimore completed a three-game sweep of Tampa Bay.

Adam Jones recorded two hits and scored a run while Jonathan Schoop knocked in one for the Orioles, who have taken all five games against the Rays this season. Jimenez (2-4) allowed one run and scattered seven hits in 5 1/3 innings with three strikeouts and Darren O’Day notched his second save.

Evan Longoria knocked in the only run for Tampa Bay, which left 11 runners on base and could not score after Ryan Hanigan and Ben Zobrist singled to open the ninth. David Price (3-3) yielded three runs on nine hits in five-plus innings to suffer the loss and has won only once in his last five starts.

Longoria’s RBI single to right in the first inning gave the Rays the lead, but J.J. Hardy doubled with two outs in the second and trotted home on Pearce’s line-drive homer to left field on a 3-2 fastball. Baltimore increased its lead in the fourth when Schoop singled up the middle to plate Jones.

The Orioles loaded the bases with none out in the sixth before Brad Boxberger came on to strike out the next three batters on nine pitches. Ryan Webb and Brian Matusz each pitched 1 1/3 innings without allowing a hit before O’Day gave closer Tommy Hunter the night off in the ninth.
