Brewers 8, Cubs 2: Edwin Maysonet belted his first career grand slam in the sixth inning and Shaun Marcum scattered three hits over seven sizzling frames as host Milwaukee posted its ninth straight victory over Chicago.

After Jonathan Lucroy scored on a fielder's choice to snap a tie, Maysonet's towering blast off Chris Volstad (0-5) cleared the wall in left field. The home run was Maysonet's first of the season and second of his career.

Lucroy had an RBI single among his three hits for the Brewers, who have won two in a row and four of 10 games this month. The Cubs dropped to 4-10 on the road.

Marcum (2-1) settled down after a shaky first inning to improve to 2-0 versus Chicago this season and 4-0 in his career. Marcum, who defeated the Cubs on April 9, allowed one run and struck out six on Saturday.

Volstad pitched well until the five-run sixth inning. He permitted six runs on nine hits in six frames to take the loss.

Starlin Castro saw his 10-game hitting streak come to an end after an 0-for-4 performance.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago placed reliever Carlos Marmol on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain. In a corresponding move, the Cubs recalled right-hander Casey Coleman from Triple-A Iowa. Coleman threw two innings in relief of Volstad, charged with two runs on four hits. ... X-rays on the left wrist of Milwaukee's Rickie Weeks were negative. Weeks, who was hit by a pitch in the 13th inning of Friday's contest, will be re-evaluated prior to Sunday's game. ... The legendary Ernie Banks belted his 500th homer on this day in 1970.
