Yorvit Torrealba homered twice, and Adrian Beltre and Ian Kinsler also went deep as the Texas Rangers rolled to a 12-5 victory over the visiting Seattle Mariners on Sunday.
Torrealba had five RBIs, including a seventh-inning grand slam, as Texas won for the 11th time in 13 games and remained a game ahead of the Detroit Tigers in the battle for second-best record in the American League.
Derek Holland (16-5) won his fifth straight decision and 10th of the last 11. Holland struck out seven and gave up three runs and five hits in five innings.
Chris Gimenez, Alex Liddi, Mike Carp and Kyle Seager all homered for Seattle, which lost its fourth straight.
Kinsler and Beltre each had three hits. Kinsler scored three runs and stole two bases and is one steal shy of his second career 30-homer, 30-steal season.
Seattle’s Charlie Furbush (4-10) lost for the sixth time in seven decisions. Furbush gave up six runs (five earned) and six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Texas went 15-4 against Seattle this season, including 8-1 at home.
