Ducks 4, Stars 0: Viktor Fasth turned aside 26 shots for his third shutout and Bobby Ryan recorded a goal and an assist as visiting Anaheim scored three times in the second period en route to a victory over Dallas.
Ryan, Corey Perry and Matt Beleskey tallied in a span of 4:49 in the second session and captain Ryan Getzlaf added a pair of assists for the Ducks, who host Dallas on Wednesday and Friday. Teemu Selanne scored an empty-netter with 27.1 seconds left for his 672nd career goal.
Kari Lehtonen made 26 saves for the Stars, who lost for the second time in as many nights. Dallas was 0-of-4 on the power play.
Ryan ignited the Ducks’ rally on the power play, taking a cross-ice pass from Getzlaf and wristing a shot just inside the left post from the left faceoff circle at 10:13. Perry chipped home a rebound 2:39 later and Beleskey was first to his deflected shot in close with 4:58 left in the second for his first goal in 11 games.
Fasth made a big blocker save on Jamie Benn, who was alone in front after taking a nifty pass from Jaromir Jagr, in the final minute of the first period to keep the game scoreless. Fasth also was sharp as the Ducks killed off two Dallas power plays early in the second before Ryan’s tally.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Perry tied Getzlaf for the team lead in goals with 12. Getzlaf has a team-best 40 points. … Dallas had its seven-game point streak (5-0-2) at home against Anaheim snapped. … Dallas recalled LW Francis Wathier, who played 5:40 in his 10th NHL game. ... The Ducks made a minor trade earlier in the day, acquiring Harry Zolnierczyk from Philadelphia for fellow LW Jay Rosehill.
