Mike Fisher scored the game winner with 1:16 left in regulation as the Nashville Predators earned a wild 6-5 victory over the host Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.
Martin Erat gained the Canucks zone and zipped a backhand pass across the low slot to Fisher, who tapped the puck past Roberto Luongo to cap a rally from a two-goal deficit.
Neither starting netminder lasted past the midway point of the game, as Vancouver's Cory Schneider and Nashville's Pekka Rinne combined to allow eight goals on just 23 shots.
Colin Wilson paced the Predators with a goal and two assists while Fisher scored twice and Shea Weber and David Legwand each added a goal and a helper. Legwand's goal ended a seven-game drought as the Predators won for just the second time in seven contests.
Jordin Tootoo had the other Nashville goal.
Daniel Sedin led a balanced attack with a goal and an assist for the Canucks, who saw their five-game winning streak come to an end. Cody Hodgson, Alex Burrows, Aaron Volpatti and Jannik Hansen also scored for Vancouver.
Nashville broke out to a 3-0 first-period lead, chasing Schneider after just 20 minutes. The three-goal outburst equaled the number of goals Schneider had allowed in his previous four games combined.
Vancouver roared back with five straight goals, but the Predators responded by scoring twice in the final four minutes of the second period to square things at 5-5 entering the third.
