Michael Vick scored a quick knockout in his rematch with Donovan McNabb as the Philadelphia Eagles humiliated the host Washington Redskins 59-28 on Monday night in an NFC East mismatch.

Vick accounted for six touchdowns - five in the first half alone - as the Eagles raced to a 35-0 lead just nine seconds into the second quarter and moved into a tie with the New York Giants atop the NFC East.

Playing the best game of his star-crossed career, Vick finished 20 of 28 for 333 yards and four scoring passes. He also rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns to help Philadelphia (6-3) avenge a 17-12 loss to the Redskins on Oct. 3.

The Eagles set a record by grabbing the largest first-quarter lead (28-0) by a road team in NFL history as the Redskins (4-5) got off to the worst start in Washington since the Obama administration took office.

McNabb, who was signed to a five-year, $78 million contract extension earlier Monday just two weeks after a controversial benching, finished 17 of 31 for 295 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Vick delivered the first dagger just 18 seconds into the game with an 88-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson on the Eagles' first play from scrimmage.

The left-handed quarterback added a 7-yard touchdown run and threw an 11-yard shovel pass to LeSean McCoy before Jerome Harrison capped the first-quarter blitz with a weaving 50-yard touchdown run.

Vick's 48-yard strike to Jeremy Maclin on the first play of the second quarter ballooned the lead to 35-0 before McNabb threw a pair of short scoring passes to add some mild suspense as points were being scored at a video-game pace.

But Dimitri Patterson stemmed Washington's momentum with an interception of McNabb and Vick converted it into a 6-yard touchdown run en route to a 45-14 halftime bulge.

Patterson returned his second interception of McNabb 40 yards for a touchdown to build the lead to 59-21 in the third quarter.

Keiland Williams had a combined 139 yards rushing and receiving and scored three touchdowns for the Redskins.
