Ian DuBose scored a team-high 17 points in his first game since November as visiting Wake Forest defeated Boston College 69-65 on Wednesday night.
DuBose, a guard who had been out due to an undisclosed ailment, came off the bench to shoot 6-for-15 from the field.
Wake Forest (6-8, 3-8 Atlantic Coast Conference), which notched its first road victory of the season, won despite shooting 43.1 percent from the field.
Ody Oguama added 13 points and 10 rebounds in a reserve role for Wake Forest, which hadn't played since Feb. 2. Starter Isaiah Mucius added 10 points and eight rebounds, and the Demon Deacons received 49 points from their bench.
Boston College (3-12, 1-8) was in its second game since a three-week layoff, mostly related to coronavirus cases connected to its program. The Eagles fell to 2-5 in home games this season.
Jay Heath had 20 points and CJ Felder added 17 points for Boston College, which shot 8-for-33 from 3-point range. Rich Kelly had 13 points.
Wake Forest led 30-22 at halftime as the Eagles hit only 25 percent of their field-goal attempts.
Boston College cut a 14-point hole to 63-62 on Heath's 3-point shot with 2:51 remaining. The Eagles didn't score again until the waning seconds when Heath sank another trey.
The layoff and coronavirus protocols meant the Eagles have been saddled with a reduced roster and have turned to a group of five walk-ons nicknamed "The Martians," a moniker stemming from the looks of their practice gear, for significant playing time.
DuBose played two November games before the extended absence.
Wake Forest was coming off committing a season-low six turnovers in its most recent game, a blowout loss at Notre Dame. The Demon Deacons gave the ball away 13 times Wednesday while forcing four Eagles turnovers.
The Demon Deacons are 2-4 in their past six visits to Boston College.
