Villanova 94, USC 79: James Bell led five players in double figures with 17 points as the Wildcats rolled over the Trojans in the quarterfinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas.

Darrun Hilliard scored 16 and Ryan Arcidiacono chipped in with 14 points and six assists for Villanova (5-0), which plays Kansas in the semifinals Friday. Dylan Ennis, a transfer from Rice, added 14 points in his debut for the Wildcats after missing a month with a fractured right hand.

Pe’Shon Howard led the way with 23 points for USC (4-2), which saw its four-game win streak come to an end. Byron Wesley registered 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Trojans, who play Wake Forest in the consolation round Friday.

Arcidiacono scored 14 points and Ennis had 12 in the first half while the Wildcats made 8-of-17 from 3-point range to build a 48-37 lead at intermission. Howard, a transfer from Maryland, drained three from beyond the arc and scored 16 in the opening 20 minutes to help keep USC in it.

The Trojans crept within 59-50 with just under 12 minutes left on an Omar Oraby dunk before the Wildcats responded with a 12-4 burst, capped by a Bell dunk. The Trojans could not make another run after that, finishing with 16 turnovers, and Villanova topped its season high in points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Villanova’s leading scorer JayVaughn Pinkston, limited by foul trouble in the first half, ended up with 12 points. … Howard has scored in double figures twice this season after doing it only once while at Maryland last season. … Villanova came in shooting 25.5 percent from 3-point range, but made 11-of-28 overall against USC.
