Southern Methodist 82, Texas Pan-American 56: Markus Kennedy scored a career-high 17 points off the bench and took seven rebounds as the host Mustangs won their fourth straight following a 14-day layoff.
Ryan Manuel added a season-high 14 points and Nic Moore scored 10 for SMU (9-2). Nick Russell contributed six points, nine assists and eight rebounds.
Javorn Farrell matched his season high with 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Texas-Pan American (4-9). Shaquille Boga contributed 12 points and four assists for the Broncs.
The Mustangs went ahead for good with a 13-2 run that gave them a 23-15 lead with 9:01 left in the first half. They went up by as many as 12 before taking a 40-34 advantage into the break.
The Broncs managed to stay within single digits until an 8-0 burst put SMU ahead by 16 just before the midway point of the second half. SMU kept the game close by shooting 15-for-32 from the free throw line.
GAME NOTEBOOK: This was final game at the off-campus Curtis Culwell Center as Moody Coliseum is scheduled to reopen early next year following an extensive renovation. … Moore is shooting 32-for-56 from beyond the 3-point arc this season. … SMU reserve G Keith Frazier limped off the floor in the second half with an apparent right ankle injury and did not return.
