No. 2 Michigan 93, Eastern Michigan 54: Five players scored in double figures, led by Tim Hardaway Jr.’s game-high 17 points, as the unbeaten Wolverines cruised past the visiting Eagles.
Nik Stauskas scored 16 points - including a career-high five 3-pointers - while fellow freshman Glenn Robinson III poured in 13 points for Michigan (12-0), which improved to 8-0 at home and is off to its second-best start in school history. Another freshman, Mitch McGary, came off the bench and added 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
Daylen Harrison finished with 13 points and Glenn Bryant had 10 points for Eastern Michigan (6-4), which fell to 0-4 on the road.
The Eagles jumped out to 6-2 lead on a 3-pointer from Bryant just 1:37 into the game but Jordan Morgan and Robinson each hit jumpers to spark 20 unanswered points and help the Wolverines take a 40-24 advantage into the break.
Michigan forced Eastern Michigan into 18 turnovers and the Wolverines outrebounded the Eagles 43-28. Michigan shot 91.7 percent (11-for-12) from the foul line and 50.7 percent (35-for-69) from the field.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Michigan, which started the 1985-86 season with 16 straight wins, has its highest ranking since the 1992-93 season. … The Wolverines are 27-2 in the series against the Eagles. … Eastern Michigan was without freshman guard Ray Lee, who is sidelined indefinitely because of a foot injury.
