Spurs 108, Timberwolves 93: Austin Daye scored a season-best 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Patty Mills scored a season-high 19 points as San Antonio knocked off Minnesota to stretch the Timberwolves’ losing streak to 15 games.

Tim Duncan scored 13 points for the Spurs, who improve to 3-0 against Minnesota this season. Cory Joseph and Tony Parker scored 12 points apiece and Boris Diaw added 11.

Zach LaVine scored 19 points for the Timberwolves, who drop to 3-16 at home. Gorgui Dieng had 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots and Andrew Wiggins also scored 18 for Minnesota.

The Timberwolves trailed by 16 points with under three minutes to play before making a late charge. LaVine scored five points during a 7-0 run to bring Minnesota within nine before Daye scored five straight points and Mills drained a 3-pointer to make it a 17-point margin.

Daye scored nine points during a 13-0 run in the second quarter as the Spurs opened up a 17-point lead. San Antonio led by as many as 20 before settling for a 58-43 halftime lead and expanded it to 84-64 entering the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wiggins fell two points shy of his seventh straight 20-point game. … Spurs G Manu Ginobili (back) sat out after being injured during Friday’s game. … Minnesota made all 26 of its free-throw attempts.
