Thunder 97, Pacers 75: Kevin Durant had 34 points and nine rebounds and visiting Oklahoma City dominated the fourth quarter while routing Indiana.
Russell Westbrook added 24 points and nine assists as the Thunder moved into a tie with the San Antonio Spurs for the top spot in the Western Conference. Oklahoma City has won six of its last seven games.
Roy Hibbert had 22 points and David West added 17 for the Pacers, who had a five-game winning streak halted and fell 1 1/2 games behind the New York Knicks in the battle for the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference. Indiana was just 2-of-18 shooting in the fourth quarter while being outscored 25-8.
The Thunder scored the first nine points of the final quarter to take an 81-67 lead on a 3-pointer by Kevin Martin with 8:37 to play. The onslaught continued with Durant’s basket with 2:20 remaining pushing the lead to 20.
Oklahoma City led 44-43 at halftime and had an 11-point lead after Durant’s basket with 4:52 left in the third quarter. Indiana cut its deficit to five before getting steamrolled in the final stanza.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Pacers will take another swipe at clinching the Central Division crown when they visit the Washington Wizards on Saturday. Indiana’s loss and Chicago’s victory over Orlando prevented that from occurring on Friday. … Thunder F Serge Ibaka added 12 points. … The Pacers were 2-for-21 from 3-point range.
