Cavaliers 94, Bucks 82: Dion Waiters scored 18 points and C.J. Miles added 16 as Cleveland snapped a six-game losing streak despite a season-high 37 points by Milwaukee’s Monta Ellis.
Kyrie Irving scored 15 points, Tristan Thompson had 14 and 14 rebounds and Tyler Zeller added 11 points and 10 boards for the Cavaliers, who were without league-leading rebounder Anderson Varejao (knee) for the third straight game.
Ellis hit 15 of 27 shots as the only Milwaukee player to play well on the offensive end. The rest of the Bucks were a combined 16-of-52 for a paltry 30.8 percent.
Cleveland led 46-37 at halftime and opened up a 20-point lead in the third quarter. Irving’s layup made it 67-47 with 4:01 remaining before Milwaukee went on a 16-2 run to cut its deficit to six.
The Cavaliers rediscovered their stride in the final quarter and Thompson’s basket made it 88-72 with 4:12 to play.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cleveland halted a nine-game losing streak against the Bucks. … Milwaukee frontcourt starters Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (four) and Larry Sanders (two) combined for six points on 1-of-10 shooting after combining for 37 points in Friday’s overtime victory against the Boston Celtics. … The double-double was Thompson’s eighth of the season, and he fell one board shy of matching his career high.
