Matt Barnes scored a season-high 24 points and Kobe Bryant added 23 points as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the host Minnesota Timberwolves 112-95 on Friday.
Barnes didn’t miss a shot while helping the Lakers (11-2) to their third straight victory. The reserve forward was 7-for-7 from the field, including five 3-point baskets, and 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Barnes also had seven rebounds and six assists.
Michael Beasley and Darko Milicic both had huge games for Minnesota (4-10). Beasley had 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Milicic recorded season highs with 23 points, 16 rebounds and six blocked shots.
Los Angeles forward Pau Gasol had a solid all-around game with 16 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.
Bryant was just 8-for-27 field while registering his sixth consecutive 20-point game.
Timberwolves center Kevin Love was scoreless in 34 minutes after scoring 20 or more points in four consecutive games. Love was 0-for-7 from the field and had just seven rebounds, well below his NBA-leading average of 14.3.
