Slump-ridden Kyle Korver hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 25.5 seconds left to help the Chicago Bulls to a 99-96 victory over the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Korver has made just 29.5 percent of his shots over Chicago’s last 13 games but made the decisive basket after corralling the ball following a mad scramble as the Bulls improved to 27-13 and handed Miami its third straight defeat.
Derrick Rose had 34 points and eight assists to pace the Bulls.
The Heat (30-12) were without the injured LeBron James for the second straight game as he was sidelined with a sprained left ankle.
Dwyane Wade scored 33 points but missed a last-second 3-point shot that would have forced overtime. Mario Chalmers couldn’t convert a 3-pointer with 6.9 seconds left that would have given Miami a one-point lead.
Chris Bosh added 17 points but Miami isn’t the same team when it is missing one of its three star players.
Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng had 12 points apiece for the Bulls. Korver had seven points, hitting 3 of 6 shots.
