Nazr Mohammed scored 18 points and Gerald Wallace added 16 as the Charlotte Bobcats bounced back to defeat the visiting Toronto Raptors, 97-91, on Tuesday.
Tyrus Thomas added 14 points for Charlotte (9-15), which rebounded from Saturday’s embarrassing 31-point loss to Boston that earned the squad a tongue-lashing from owner Michael Jordan.
Jerryd Bayless had 17 points and nine assists to lead Toronto (9-16), which squandered a 12-point first-half lead and lost for the fifth time in six games.
Bayless pulled the Raptors within 94-91 on a basket with 21 seconds left before D.J. Augustin made three free throws in the final 20 seconds to sew up the victory.
Mohammed made 8-of-11 shots as the Bobcats shot 52 percent from the field. Augustin had 12 points and seven assists.
DeMar DeRozan scored 14 points, Amir Johnson 12 points and 12 rebounds and Leandro Barbosa scored 12 points for Toronto.
Both teams' leading scorers struggled. Toronto's Andrea Bargnani tallied just 12 points on 4-for-14 shooting. Charlotte's Stephen Jackson tallied just seven points.
